Join Slow Fiber Studios on it’s second trip to Lauris, France this fall. The 11 day trip will include:

October 1-2: Field trips to Nîmes, Tarascon, and Fontaine de Vaucluse; Orientation in Lauris

October 3-9: Workshops (6 days) in Lauris. Natural Organic Pigment and Lakes making with Michel Garcia using plant materials wisely from left-over dye bath etc; eco-friendly + safer + more sustainable methods revised from traditional European approaches. Using pigment lakes, you will learn to dye cloth (protein and blended fiber), make paint with various binders and apply them on paper, wood and other surfaces.

October 6th and 10th: Field trips to Apt, Lacoste, Roussillon, and surrounds

Extension: (October 11th-14th) includes all-day conference, International Forum of Natural Dyes with presentations by specialists from France and beyond, hosted by Association Couleur Garance. Exhibition(Le temps s’égraine), demonstrations, and workshops along with a unique world-class market with a wide variety of craftsmen from all over Europe presenting their work with 100% natural dyes. The entire  village is involved in this special event.
