A film series and discussion forum dedicated to the science and practice of natural dyes and pigments using sustainable methods.
This workshop with Michel Garcia has thus far covered: indigo vat with an organic reduction method, ferrous mordant and alum mordant using gall nut for shades mauve – gray. We expanded to 8 different natural dyes with 8 variegated strength of mordants, learned gum resist paste, and a few more tricks. The town of Lauris is lovely and walks through the field so refreshing.

yes, indeed, it’s all good. many tricks and so easy to be here. working on primarily cotton, but silk works with mordant printing as well. cotton paper painted first with kalam pen and ferrous mordant , then dyed in cochineal, pictures to follow. great control with only short learning curve on the kalam pen!
